READ & BE INSPIRED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
2023 Is in the Books!
Wow! What an amazing year it has been. Thanks to the generosity and support of our donors, we have been able to continue impacting lives through sports in the Stone Island, Mazatlan community.
We have witnessed the mental shift from not believing they had a place in sports and now participating in league games, tournaments and some National championships! As we see what is happening in these young lives, we realize our work cannot wait and we can’t let them down.
What we were able to accomplish in 2023:
We are now working with over 50 children and youth weekly though baseball skills training.
We registered 28 children and youth to the local baseball league for the 2023-2024 season, covering their registration fee (approximately $110 per child for the year)
Provided baseball equipment for all participants registered in the local league
We are providing transportation to and from games for the athletes registered and their family members
We were able to provide eye care and glasses for one of our participants who really needed them.
We are offering sports skills training weekly
We provide mentoring activities daily and weekly

Plans for this Year
In addition to our current programs and activities, we are continuing to add as we see the needs of the community we are serving.
EDUCATION: Many of the children and youth we serve are not at grade level and most cannot read. We will be providing educational support through a homeschool co-op setting and/or tutoring.
PARENTING EDUCATION: Offer parenting training and resources through a parent support group.
HEALTH: Provide eye and dental care through donations and collaborations with other organizations.
MENTORING: We have created small groups for weekly mentoring and activities. We will cover values, healthy relationships, peer-pressure and provide connections through fun activities.
As you know your donations are very important to organizations like ours, your generosity allows us to grow and reach more children and youth. Please consider partnering with us and continuing to advance our mission and impact. Thank you.
Summer Highlights
July 20, 2023
What a journey it has been so far! A year ago this was only a dream and its mind blowing to see it coming to life before our eyes. We began to get a new group of kids attending our baseball practice and quickly realized they were here to stay. Early June we decided to hold an Information Night for new families, we had a great turnout and over 20 kids were registered to our program. Since then we have had more interest and we are up to 50+ kids total!
Our primary goal is to impact young athletes physically, mentally, and spiritually so we knew summer was the perfect time to provide opportunities for them to learn and thrive in. We have included activities they already enjoy or have expressed interest in. It has not been easy as we are limited resources and volunteers but we believe God will continue to provide. Thanks for your support!

We Did It.
Thanks to your generous support, 13 boys were registered to play baseball in a local league here in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Eleven of these boys had never participated in organized sports before and were able to learn to work as a team, learn commitment, responsibility, patience and gained confidence.
Two of our first time players have been selected for a competitive travel team that will represent Mazatlan at the nationals in Mexico City in July 2023.
They have also participated in after school programming where we help with homework and have a safe place to “hang out”. All this was possible because of your “yes”. Thank you for investing in these young lives and their community. We believe this is an experience they will never forget and will continue to impact their lives. This is only the beginning.
Ways to Support.
We are preparing to offer summer programming so that our youth can continue to receive mentoring, learn and have fun in a safe place while school is out. We have had new kids coming to train and hang out. Most of them are asking about registering to play in the league this next season and we are planning an information night for parents to tell them more about Campos, our mission and baseball registration sponsorships.

The Maciel Family Has Arrived.
We are so excited to get settled, continuing what was started a year ago, and roll out programming that will benefit our youth, not only in sports but also education, mental wellness, and more!
It has been fun getting to spend more time with our youth and getting know their parents/guardians. Hearing their stories inspires us to give it our all! We quickly started seeing needs beyond baseball, at least half of our youth is struggling with their education and we feel an urgency to tackle this head on. We prayed for a space and found out about a new commercial space beside the field, with a clear view of the field! We inquired about rent and requirements. Rent is approximately $360 USD, we would need to install an ac unit because we are finding our things are done differently here and the landlord is not providing one. As I shared about the space with my cousin Dina, she interrupted me and said “I will cover $150 monthly!” I had no words, wow God you are so good! We are looking for an additional $210 for rent, if you feel led to give towards this, please do so through our GIVE link. Please help us pray for guidance, wisdom, and provision as we move forward.
Thanks to all of our donors and supporters who have made this possible. Your generosity is making such an impact! We will continue keeping you informed and updated.
God bless you all!

Why The Name Campos?
By Merab V. Maciel
We woke up early Sunday morning to meet with the 6 kids that my husband, Tiloh, and our new friend Esteban had played baseball with the Sunday prior. We took a ferry boat to Isla de La Piedra (Spanish for Stone Island). As we walked in to the field we heard, “they are here, they are here!” We found not six kids but 16 that had gathered to play baseball!
Our family was in Mazatlan for a mission school and although our time there was dedicated mostly to school responsibilities , God was stirring our hearts for something we didn’t even understand yet. I remember being reminded in my soul to go back through records I had of prayers prayed over us. I brushed it off and thought, I’ll do it later. My husband went to the field on the island one day to meet a potential trainer that could work with the kids since we had commitments all week. When he returned he shared that while he and Esteban sat on the field concrete bleachers, he asked God, “Is this you? Are you calling us to something here?” He looked out to the field and it was no longer dry, he was seeing a vision! The field was green, there were families walking around and enjoying time together! He left the field full of faith and knowing his question had been answered.
A couple mornings later, while Tiloh and I waited to start playing baseball with the kids he says to me, “Mom, I had a dream last night, I dreamed that the field was green.” I remembered Francisco’s vision and just took a deep breath. I also decided to listen and took some time alone and go back through the prayers in my records. Both mentioned “a field” and I sat there in shock, I cried as I realized what was happening. I was reminded of John 4:35 where Jesus tells the disciples, “…the fields are ready for harvest….”.
It seemed that overnight God deposited His dream in us and made it our dream. We were quickly talking about starting something that would spread God’s love through baseball….we would call it Campos which is Spanish for Fields, that’s about how much we had but that was enough…we were in!
A Word from Our Director Jayci
While I was in Mazatlan I saw many beautiful sunsets that lit up the sky with color. I love that we serve a creative and abundant God who is making a difference in the lives of the youth there. We can reflect on how a divine Creator made each and every one of us with careful design and how he even knows the number of hairs on our head. He knows what makes us smile and what we love because he designed us! He is an intentional God who delights in the small details of our lives.
This is a reminder for us to enjoy every small thing like a sunset, a smile, or a conversation with a friend. We can all keep an expectant eye out for "God moments' in our lives where he shows us more of his character. "
